I know…I feel like it’s not the fault of the character though, as much as the writing. If he was intended to be a liked character, and it didn’t go that way…that shows the weakness of his story :/

Yes, exactly. 

There are characters we’re supposed to hate like Amon— but for some reason he got a better back story and empathy from the fans. 

But then there’s goddamn Mako WHO WE’RE SUPPOSED TO LIKE and he’s this ass who constantly does things that piss people off.
