Critique day
Oh this is so accurate
skipping class
to work on homework for another class
:’|
y’all don’t know awkward until the nude model you’re drawing gets an erection
up early to go draw naked people
BD
I miss drawing nude bodies in person now.
:(
ugh me too
It’s like, you don’t even appreciate the 60 year old penis that you have to draw 18345578394 times until you don’t get to draw it anymore.
Excuse me, Tumblr?
I can’t hear you over the sound of my STRAIGHT “A”S.
And I thought to myself, I don’t want to write a paper about that.
I have a design assignment where I have to emulate 15 well known art pieces, and I am having the hardest time just choosing the work
So far I have
-my roommate is going to model for this
-I need to find 3 friends that want to model for this
-I also need to find a friend who is willing to go back to the school with me to model with an easel.
-I bought pipe cleaners (going to mold it into a flower) to hold in front of my camera. I just need a model and a paint roller.

-we’re allowed to emulate screen caps from well know movies, so I’m going to have a ton of students stand on desks for the “O Captain! My Captain” scene of Dead Poets Society.
This assignment may sound fun or cool to you guys, but I have 5 of these bitches due This Tuesday. And I don’t have any done. I don’t even have all 15 images to emulate yet. What really sucks is that I have to depend on people for this assignment. I can’t just sit in my room and work on this shit by myself- and that’s the way I like it. I have to figure out schedules of when people can model for me and I have to buy supplies because my professor wants our emulations to really resemble the original pieces. ajshfhsj STRESSSS
So, can you guys help me out by recommending what art pieces to use? My mind is going completely blank and I have an essay to write for English. Oh, also this emulation project is for my design class, right? Well, she also assigned 9 visual balance drawings AND a painted visual scale ALL DUE THIS FUCKING TUESDAY. This bitch is crazy. I have work for other classes too. ajsdhsk Anyway, (I complain too much .__.) you guys have any suggestions? I would prefer art pieces that don’t have people in them.
;___; help me?
EDIT:
I added
-scad has a pool table I can use mwahaha
-I need to buy or make wings and get models who are willing to pose shirtless. welp.
- Thanks for recommending it, Eileenpaints! <3
- this one was sent to me by an anon. Thank you!
-AHHH My friend, Kat, has a skull I can borrow. To the anon sending me these, THANK YOU SO MUCH AJSHJS. But why anonymous? :c
-I can get this tonight. I just have to bring pepper spray or something. Oh, Atlanta.
-Does anyone know what this piece is called? I know it’s by Keith Haring.
- Oh, I have the perfect model for this.

Remember how yesterday I mentioned going to an art lecture at the Digital Media Center? Well, it was basically about the internet and how it promotes artists better than any other system in the past. There were a few boring parts because it was, like, some lady trying to teach us what’s on the internet. Really? But it was cool and informative, nonetheless.
So anyway, my drawing professor and a few people in my class went to the lecture and today he wanted us to discus what we thought about it. Of course those of us who actually went are super internet enthusiasts, so we were all about the discussion. We talked about advancements in technology, how far we’ve come, the good and the bad, like bionic eyes and holographic monitors, but then things like the hydrogen bomb.
We talked about this for 50 minutes (wasting class time, mind you) and our professor just sat there soaking it in and occasionally giving a few opinions. Like, he worries that since our culture is so dependent on the internet and technology, how will our history be preserved and what’s worth preserving. Technology out dates itself all the time. The iphone isn’t an Egyptian pyramid, but it’s a part of our history. What is worth preserving?
Okay, let me get to the point. He loved how involved we were being about the topic and it got to a point where he said “Hmm… I wonder if we can incorporate this into our midterm assignment.” And the class was like, LOLWAT? Because the only thing we’ve been using thus far is charcoal. Still life drawings and perspective drawings. That’s it. How did our discussion about technology advancements inspire a new project?
Get this- he wants us to create a video that has something to do with drawing and we have to post it on the internet. Like, we wouldn’t even have to draw. It could be an educational video or a discussion about drawing. His only real restriction was “Just don’t rant about your evil drawing professor on the internet, guys. That could potentially hurt me.” And we were all like ajshfhjsj WE LOVE YOU, PROFESSOR KNOWLES.
I decided, since I haven’t drawn for myself in the longest time, I’m going to record a digital drawing with my tablet and make a time lapse video of it. So this sounds simple enough, but here’s where I need your help, tumblr. This assignment could give me a 100 for my midterm grade if:
The whole point of the assignment is to see how well the internet promotes art and how much exposure can you get in a limited time. Obviously there were a few people in our class that weren’t really interested in the discussion, so this completely hit them in the groin. Professor Knowles said it would be an alternative assignment to drawing intimate space (a weird perspective, like, under your sink or bed). Also, our class is the only one he’s letting do this because we basically came up with the project through discussion. Since I want to not be bored to death by another perspective drawing, I’m totally considering the video. This is the kind of fun assignment you hope for when going to art school.
I started brainstorming ideas because I need to do something the internet likes enough to get me 1,000 youtube views. So I thought, man I haven’t drawn for myself in so long, what do I want to draw? And then it hit me.
Lesbian sex Marceline and Princess Bubblegum.
I’ve been dying to draw them and they have gone viral on the internet lately. Everyone goes bonkers for lesbians so it might just work. Do you guys think it would get me 1,000 views? I think having roughly 330 followers will give me an advantage. It would be totallyyyy awesome if you guys help me promote the video through reblogs or just sending it to people who might be interested. You wouldn’t even have to watch it all the way; I just need the views.
Since the assignment is win or lose (1,000 views for a hundred or less than 1,000 views for a zero) and due in two weeks, I’m still really iffy about it. If I do decide to go through with this, the video will probably be created this Tuesday or Wednesday. I want to get it done pretty soon for views, but my design teacher piled me with homework this weekend. 9 visual balance designs, a value scale, and 5 art emulations due on the same day. Also I have an English essay to write… :|
Anywayyy, Tell me what you guys think. Should I do this thang? Any suggestions? ISN’T MY DRAWING PROFESSOR THE BEST?
Pics from my first critique ever. It was intimidating, but also rewarding.
I was working on the out of class still life (travel mug and headphones) the night Bubbline became canon, so naturally Hannah and Anthony distracted me with a conversation about Adventure Time lesbians. During the whole critique, when people would tell me “I like the way you ____”, “How did you manage to ____?”, or “Why did you decide to ____?”, all I could think to say was “…cause lesbians”. It was so hard not to crack up during my critique. I hate you guys. >:[ <333
Hannah, remember that time I told you my drawing professor resembled Cavnar? Look at him.
I need to be well rested, so I’m hitting the bed early.

I’d be more excited, but I don’t have an actual art class until Tuesday. Tomorrow I have First Year Experience at 10am and then I have English around 2pm.
Wish me luck! :3
